If you have ever tried to install NTSC SNES and NES VC games on your PAL Wii, you probably got a blank screen when you tried to play it. Priiloader settings and freethewads don't solve this problem either.

Can you help? @BlueLegion I say that because they DO work on a PAL system.

If someone has a solution to my problem that would be great. Click to expand.I did what you said by changing the regions using ShowMiiWads instead of FreeTheWads, and installing the Wads with Wii Mod Lite instead of Yet Another Wad Manager Mod. Unfortunately when I load the channel I get the same result, black screen, no response, have to hold the power button on the Wii.

Get the PAL versions if you can as they are identical to the NTSC ones, and they will work without patching. For all other games, you need to patch them. First, download this. (updated link, 07/08/18) It is a combination of wwPacker and Custom Nand-Loader MOD 1.1. I combined the files into one as it is hard to find a download link for them individually that isn't dead.

The following is a list of the 397 games available on the Virtual Console for the Wii in North America. These games can also be played on Wii U through Wii Mode, but lack the additional features found in Wii U Virtual Console releases.

I even tried and, but the game wouldn’t work through those either. It didn’t help that Bags is apparently not a very popular WiiWare title: I could only find of it with regards to running through a loader with no details. Finally I just gave up before I screwed up the other 99.9% of my games that do work. If anyone has gotten this game to work through a loader with an ISO forwarder, please drop me a line in the comments!

The main purpouse of Wii WAD files is to install custom made channels and cIOS, but they are also considered to be an equivalent of the ROM and ISO files majority of which are warez.

Been learning all this myself lately and your right- information is out dated usually. First off you need to be on 4.0 or 4.1 firmware. Then you will need to softmod the system so the instillation of WAD files can be done ( is a softmod guide). You will use WAD manager to install the VC/WiiWare game wad files. Then you will need to go to Wii settings, data management, channels and MOVE (do not copy) the VC/ WiiWare games to the SD Card.

Make sure you have a NAND backup and BOOTMii, preferably installed as boot2, just in case something goes wrong during install. There are, however, a few select NTSC games that do not work on PAL systems.

Just use Startpatch and you can patch the Wii to allow any region channels to run, among other things. Here's the URL: You'll find versions for all firmwares and regions here. Please remember to read the instructions, and be careful! Now, onto my problem.

You will also need NTSC wads. You'll have to acquire these yourself. Now the steps (tested and working on Windows 10): 1) unzip the wwPacker folder. 2) Put your NTSC wad into the wwPacker folder. I recommend you start with one at a time.

This post is for all NTSC & PAL region Virtual Console Games, only genuine released games are here not injected.

Also a thank you to for introducing me to this method. EDIT: Google Chrome doesn't like the file very much. I guess it doesn't like bin files? The file is safe, I simply zipped the folder containing wwPacker and stev418's mod.

Wii games in the Virtual Console support the Classic Controllers (which were made with the purpose of the Virtual Console) and GameCube controllers. Some games also support the lone Wii Remote. PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 games that support 5-player mode require that the users connect a combination of GameCube controllers and Wii Remotes (with or without Classic Controllers attached to the Wii Remotes).

This method will allow any NTSC SNES and NES game, and probably any Virtual Console game, to be played on a PAL Wii. I have tested this with around 15 NTSC SNES and NES titles. NOTE: Some PAL Virtual Console titles are the 60Hz versions, and can be played without this method simply by installing them, usually games that have never had a PAL release. Examples are Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III and Super Mario RPG.

New to Wii Modding? Start with this link. Have you botched the modding process? To answer a common question on botched installs; NO you do not have to undo anything. As long as your Wii is still (mostly) functional, find some help, start the modding process over. You (almost) never need to undo what you've already done. Un-modding your Wii Simply put; No.

It can be done to an extent, but there are some things you will never undo. If you want to un-mod your Wii because your current mod job is causing problems, find a better tutorial, start over. Jab kisi ki taraf dil jhukne lage.

Most VC wads I installed using this method used this file; for example, Legend of Zelda for NES uses IOS9. 5) COPY the 'loader.bin' file from the folder (do not CUT, you only want to use a copy of it and keep the original here).

I, too, am having trouble moving and playing WADs from my SD card, same as Oldman111 above. I am currently on 4.2, having updated using the Safe 4.2 Updater available here: with HBC and Larrylje's patched IOS60 installed. Once I had all that done, I used Startpatch to enable region-free channels and GC games, as well as the recovery menu via GC pad (I left the rest of the patches alone). Since then, every NTSC/'acquired' WAD I install to the Wii system memory works fine, but if I move the channels to the SD card and then try to play them from the card or copy/move them back, it refuses to allow it. I should point out at this point that all my Shop Channel-bought VC games still work as they're supposed to, including moving and launching from SD, so I can only conclude that it's a new anti-piracy protection in the firmware itself. My question: I'm thinking of reverting back to 4.1, since I had no problems at all using that firmware. What would be the best way of going about that?

Since it’d been a while since I last touched my homebrew setup, I first: • upgraded to the latest version of • upgraded to the latest version of • upgraded to the new Then I followed the steps in the guide to make a backup of my Wii’s, extracted it, and put it on a separate partition of my USB hard drive. Next I created the ISO forwarders for my Virtual Console and WiiWare games, and added them to the loader. The snags I ran into were: • In addition to the partition on my USB hard drive that contains all of my games, I had an exFAT partition created by Windows 7 that I was using for extra storage. I had to reformat that as FAT32 (using ) in order for the extracted NAND folders to be accessible to the Wii. • I also had to put the NandGames folder on the root of my SD card (instead of the hard drive), otherwise I kept getting the “Loader.dol not found” error when trying to launch a VC/WW title.
